AI form generation

Describe the form you need in plain language and let AI build it for you.

#AI form generator

Form Builder includes a built-in AI assistant that creates complete forms from a plain-English description. Instead of adding fields one by one, you can describe what you need and the AI generates the entire form — fields, appearance, styling, and after-submit message — in seconds.

#Where to access it

You can access the AI form generator from two places:

#From the Templates page

  1. Go to Forms in the sidebar, then click Browse Templates (or navigate directly to the Templates page).
  2. At the top of the page, you will find the AI Form Generator card.
  3. Type your form description in the text area.
  4. Click Generate with AI.
  5. You will be taken to the form builder with the generated form loaded and ready to customize.

#From the form builder sidebar

  1. Open the form builder (create a new form or edit an existing one).
  2. At the top of the left sidebar, you will find the AI prompt input.
  3. Type your description and submit.
  4. The AI generates a form and loads it onto the canvas.

Note: When using the AI generator inside the form builder, the generated form replaces the current canvas contents. Use this when starting a new form, not when you want to add fields to an existing one.

#What the AI generates

When you provide a description, the AI creates a complete form configuration including:

  • Form name — A descriptive name for your form
  • Header — A title and introductory text at the top of the form
  • Fields — All the fields you need, with appropriate types, labels, placeholders, and options
  • Footer — Text below the fields, such as a privacy note or disclaimer
  • Appearance — A visual style including input style, font family, font size, and a color scheme matched to the form's purpose
  • After-submit message — A thank-you title and message shown after the customer submits

The AI generates color schemes that meet WCAG AA accessibility standards, so your form will be readable for all customers.

#Supported field types

The AI can generate forms using the following field types:

Category Field types
Contact Email, Text (name), Phone, Password
Selection Dropdown, Checkbox, Radio Buttons, Consent, Switch, Button
Input URL, Date Time, Hidden, Repeater, Signature
Text Text, Textarea
Static Heading, Paragraph, Divider
Ratings Feedback (emoji), Matrix, Rating Level, Rating Star
Other File Upload, Color Swatch, Color Picker, Number, Quantity, Range Slider

The AI will also use Row layouts to place related fields side by side (for example, First Name and Last Name on the same line).

A few specialized field types are not available through AI generation: Image Options, Image Dropdown, Product, Hidden, and HTML. If you need these, add them manually after the AI generates your form.

#Tips for writing good prompts

The quality of the generated form depends on how clearly you describe what you need. Here are some tips:

#Be specific about the purpose

Tell the AI exactly what kind of form you are building and what information you need to collect.

  • Less effective: "Make a form for my store"
  • More effective: "A customer feedback form for a clothing store that collects the customer's name, email, which product they purchased, a 5-star rating, and a comments box"

#Mention the fields you want

If you know exactly which fields you need, list them. The AI will generate those fields with appropriate settings.

  • Less effective: "A contact form"
  • More effective: "A contact form with first name, last name, email, phone number, subject dropdown with options Sales, Support, and Other, and a message textarea"

#Describe the context

Tell the AI about your business or use case so it can choose appropriate options, labels, and styling.

  • Example: "A warranty claim form for an electronics store. Collect the customer's name, email, order number, product name, date of purchase, description of the issue, and file upload for photos of the defect."

#Mention any special features

If you want multi-page forms, specific rating types, or conditional behavior, mention it.

  • Example: "A two-page event registration form. Page 1: name, email, phone, and company. Page 2: session preferences with checkboxes, dietary requirements dropdown, and any questions textarea."

#Keep it focused

The AI works best with clear, focused descriptions. Very long or contradictory prompts may produce less predictable results.

#Prompt examples

Here are some examples of effective prompts:

Contact form:

"A professional contact form for a digital marketing agency. Collect first name, last name, company email, phone, a dropdown for the type of inquiry (SEO, PPC, Social Media, Content, Other), budget range slider from $1000 to $50000, and a message textarea."

Customer survey:

"A post-purchase satisfaction survey for a pet food store. Include a 5-star rating for overall satisfaction, emoji feedback for delivery experience, a matrix rating for product quality, packaging, and value for money, and an open-ended textarea for suggestions."

Booking form:

"An appointment booking form for a hair salon. Collect the customer's name, phone, email, preferred date and time, a dropdown for service type (Haircut, Color, Styling, Treatment), and a textarea for special requests."

Warranty claim:

"A warranty claim form for a furniture company. Collect name, email, phone, order number, date of purchase, product name, a radio button for the issue type (Damaged, Defective, Missing Parts, Other), detailed description textarea, and file upload for photos."

#Plan limits

AI form generation is available on all plans, with monthly usage limits:

Plan AI generations per month Monthly price
Free 3 $0
Starter 10 $4.99
Growth 30 $7.99
Pro Unlimited $14.99

Your usage resets at the start of each calendar month. You can check your remaining AI generations on the Dashboard, where usage stats are shown alongside submission and storage counters.

If you have reached your monthly limit, you can still create forms manually using the drag-and-drop builder or templates — the AI generator is a convenience feature, not a requirement.

#After generating

Once the AI creates your form, it loads directly into the form builder. From there, you can:

  • Review and adjust fields — Add, remove, or reorder fields as needed
  • Fine-tune settings — Update labels, placeholders, options, and validation rules
  • Modify the design — Change the colors, fonts, or layout if the AI's choices do not match your brand
  • Set up integrations — Connect the form to Google Sheets, Mailchimp, or other tools
  • Configure email notifications — Set up admin alerts and customer auto-responders
  • Publish — Put the form on your store when you are happy with it

The AI gives you a strong starting point. You are always free to customize every detail before publishing.
