Troubleshooting

Solutions for common issues — forms not showing, submissions failing, email problems, integration errors, and more.

Check these common causes:

  • Make sure the form is published (status "Active") and assigned to the correct page
  • Confirm the theme app extension block has been added to that page in the Shopify theme editor
  • Verify the form's publish location matches the page type (homepage, product page, or specific page handle)
  • Check that another form isn't already published to the same page (conflict detection)

Common reasons include:

  • You've hit your plan's monthly submission limit (returns HTTP 429)
  • The form status is Inactive (returns HTTP 403)
  • The form ID in the submission doesn't match any active form
  • Required fields are missing from the submission data

Check the dashboard for submission limit progress bars.

Check your email configuration:

  • Verify SMTP settings are configured correctly (host, port, user, password)
  • Make sure email notifications are enabled in the form's Email Settings tab
  • For auto-responders, confirm you've selected the correct email field as the recipient
  • Note that email sending is non-blocking — check your SMTP logs for errors

Start with these checks:

  • Verify the integration is connected and enabled on the form
  • Check that your API credentials are correct and haven't expired
  • Confirm your plan supports that integration — some are silently disabled if your plan doesn't cover them
  • Integrations have a 10-second timeout; slow APIs may time out
  • Integration failures don't affect submissions, so check integration-specific dashboards for errors

Common file upload issues:

  • The Free plan doesn't support file uploads at all
  • Your monthly storage quota may be exhausted
  • The file type may not be in the allowed types configured for that upload field
  • The file may exceed the plan's size limit
  • Check that your AWS S3 configuration is properly set up

A publishing conflict means another form is already published to that page. The app prevents multiple forms on the same page location. To resolve this, either unpublish the existing form first, or publish your new form to a different page.

When you hit a limit, you can:

  • Upgrade your plan for higher limits
  • Wait for the monthly reset — submissions, storage, and AI usage counters reset each calendar month
  • Delete unused forms if you're at your form limit
  • Check the dashboard progress bars to see exactly which limits you're approaching

Minor differences can occur because the storefront renders through the Liquid theme extension, which may be influenced by your theme's CSS. Check that Google Fonts are loading correctly, verify your theme isn't overriding form styles, and confirm the theme app extension block is placed correctly.

Make sure your Site Key and Secret Key are correct and match the domain your store is on. The site key is used on the frontend widget, while the secret key is verified server-side. Also check that you haven't accidentally used test keys in production.

Verify these settings:

  • The service account email has been shared with the spreadsheet (Editor access)
  • The private key is correctly pasted (including newlines)
  • The spreadsheet URL and sheet name match exactly
  • Your plan includes Google Sheets access (Starter+)

Conditional logic is a premium feature available on Growth and Pro plans only. If you're on the Free or Starter plan, you'll need to upgrade to access conditional field display. Check the Pricing page for plan comparison details.

Possible reasons include:

  • You've exceeded your plan's monthly AI generation limit
  • The prompt was too vague for the AI to generate a meaningful form
  • A temporary API issue — try again in a few moments
  • The generated output failed validation — try simplifying or rephrasing your description
